Poverty in Africa

EACH DAY...

30,000 children die of hunger and preventable diseases

6,000 people die of AIDS

17 million have already died

12 million African children have lost one or both parents

About one half of all people in the world infected with HIV or AIDS are in Africa

41% of the world's children cannot attend school

6000 children in developing countries die because of lack of clean water and sanitation.

In homes with [these services] children are 60% less likely to die

2% of the world's grain harvest would be enough, if shared, to erase the problem of hunger and malnutrition around the world!

Poverty means illiteracy, inadequate medical care, disease, and brain damage

Health Initiatives

Africa Connect has increasingly become involved in medical missions, initially emergency intervention through personal involvement with the students and their families. We now offer routine medical care and monthly clinics for our students. However, since 2009, AC donations have made it possible for Graceway to host up to three community clinics per year, saving lives and giving health and sanitation instruction. We are currently working toward establishing a Community Center, including a permanent clinic.

“Our desire is that there may be equality. At the present time your plenty will supply what they need so that in turn their plenty will supply what you need.” 2 Cor. 8:13,14
